The premise: I can't really talk too much about it without giving away the plots of Hunger Games and Catching Fire (the first two novels in the series). Let's just say that it takes place in a dystopian world in which North America has been divided up into districts. They're under the control of The Capital which arranges each year for The Hunger Games, in which teenagers compete to the death. It's a pretty fast-paced series with lots of action, rebellion, and a bit of romance sprinkled in.
Why you'll love it:
- the main character Katniss is pretty awesome. She's a bit of a reluctant hero but I like her that way.
- finally resolving the end of an awesome series
- while there's not quite as much action as the first two books, there's plenty to keep you interested
- it keeps you guessing. Nothing is as straight forward as it seems...

I broadly recommend this to action/adventure/survival fans, but honestly everyone I know that has picked it up has loved this series (including my mom who usually reads romance type stuff) so why not give it a shot?
