Maze Runner tonight!

I can't believe Maze Runner is FINALLY here! Are you seeing it tonight?

Check out the trailer. CAN'T WAIT!

Want to read it before you see it? Put a hold on the book here !

Trailer Tuesday: Divergent!

The final trailer for Divergent was released! Are you excited?! I am! I love the visuals I've seen so far, especially the costumes. Can't wait to see it!

24.12.13

Fault in Our Stars poster!

If you're a fan, you've already seen this, but if not, we just got the first poster for Fault in Our Stars! I'm glad they showed Hazel's cannula.

If you still haven't read it (really?), you can put a copy on hold here.

(& a merry + safe Christmas to you)

23.12.13

Divergent first clip

Is it a coincidence that the first clip we get of Divergent has Four taking off his shirt? Probably not. I'm not really complaining, just wish it had been of something cooler like the Dauntless train jump.

Check it out below.

Divergent is out in theatres March 21.

Read it first!

Trailer Tuesday: Vampire Academy

So, confession time. I have not read any of the Vampire Academy books. The covers though do not make them look as funny as this movie. What's the deal? Have I been missing out? Or has this trailer really skewed things?

Should I pick up the first Vampire Academy book?

25.11.13

Catching Fire!

Just wanted to pop in to say... I saw Catching Fire and I loved it! If you get a chance to see it in theaters, I'd recommend it. A (spoiler-free) things I loved:

  • the casting - I thought the new characters were cast perfectly, especially Sam Claflin as Finnick.
  • the acting! It's phenomenal. Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss is just pitch perfect. She's such a goofy person in real life, it's hard to believe that she is such a perfect Katniss
  • the special effects/makeup - there's a moment in which a few characters are injured and it was so realistic and scary.
  • staying true to the book - I thought it was a great adaptation over all. I haven't read the book in like two years, so I'm probably not the best person to speak to this but everything I remembered was in the movie. There wasn't a moment I was really disappointed not to see.
Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

Want to rewatch Hunger Games? We have it on DVD and Blu Ray

O M G

Hands up if you are freaking out about JK Rowlings new film series based in the Harry Potter verse!

(Me! Me! Me!)

She's teaming up with Warner Bros. to create a series of films based on Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. They're not really going to be related to Harry Potter or those characters and will in fact take place in New York, but still! More Harry Potter 'verse for us! I am so excited, I can't even tell you!

Find the whole story here at JKR's Facebook page.

Divergent trailer!

It's finally here!

If you didn't catch the MTV VMAs on Sunday, you might not have seen the first Divergent trailer. Fear not! I have it here for you.

Personally, I hate the way the trailer is edited (too much fade in, fade out), but I'm still excited anyway, especially with the sets. They look incredible!!

What do you think? Excited yet?

21.8.13

City of Bones!

Happy City of Bones day! Are you going to see it today in theatres?

Parts of it were shot in Hamilton and Toronto so keep your eyes peeled for familiar sites!

I haven't heard any reviews yet, so let me know how it is!

If you want to read it either before or after seeing it on the big screen, you can put a hold on a copy here!

14.8.13

USA Today also has a look at Book Thief which is coming out in November. Take a look!

Also, saw Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters last night and it was great! I really liked it. Have any of you guys seen it yet?

And finally take a look at the trailer for How I Live Now!

Whew! What movies are you excited about? I can't wait for City of Bones, Catching Fire, Book Thief, Maze Runner and Divergent!

Tuesday Trailer

Today's trailer is for the new Seventh Son movie! This is based on the Last Apprentice series that many of you have read. If not, check out the first one here - Revenge of the Witch.

This doesn't come out until January but what do you think? Excited or would you rather save your money for Maze Runner (February) or Divergent (March)?

15.7.13

Maze Runner!

Have you seen the sneak peaks that have been slowly trickling out for the Maze Runner movie?

Hypable.com has character cards for the whole cast too.

For example...

What do you think? Are they what you pictured? Are you excited?

(I AM!)

If you haven't read the books yet, you can put them on hold now! Start by clicking the cover below.

22.4.13

Pick of the Week: Iron Man!

I am so psyched about Iron Man 3 coming out May 3!

I have to admit that I've only seen the movies, not read the comics, but now might be a good time to start. The third movie is getting awesome reviews.

You'll want to watch the first movie & Iron Man 2.

You'll also want to check out Iron Man: The Ultimate Guide which is a gorgeous full-colour guide.

Then of course, we have Iron Man graphic novels.

So get your Iron Man fix before the third movie!

19.4.13

Movie news!

Rarely do two things I love come together so perfectly. Teen Wolf's fan favourite Dylan O'Brien has been cast as Thomas in Maze Runner!

As a big fan of both, I'm one happy girl!

Dylan's character on Teen Wolf is a lot more humorous than Thomas in Maze Runner, but I think Dylan can pull this off. We also know that Thomas Brodie-Sangster (who was in Love Actually + Nanny McPhee) will be Newt (at least according to the imdb page)

The screenplay's being partially written by James Dashner, who seems thrilled with the casting, so hopefully this will be one awesome movie.

Definitely recommending both Teen Wolf + Maze Runner, by the way!

Also, Tris' parents have been cast in Divergent news.

And, filming for Delirium just wrapped. You can check out cast instagram pics here!

What upcoming YA movie are you most excited for?

(I think it's still Catching Fire for me!)

16.4.13

Trailer Tuesday!

In the excitement of Catching Fire, I didn't realize the trailer for the new Percy Jackson was also released. W00t!

NATHAN FILLION IS IN THIS!! Ahem. I mean, it looks good. yes.

15.4.13

Pick of the Week!

Did anyone catch the MTV Movie Awards last night?

If you did, you might have caught the new teaser trailer for Catching Fire!! If not, we've got you covered.

As I wrote last night, I got serious chills watching this.

I find it really interesting what they chose to include (and NOT include!)

Are you excited yet? I can't believe it doesn't open until November 22. I don't think I can wait that long, seriously.

10.4.13

Waiting on Wednesday... Wait, who is Shailene Woodley?

If you haven't heard, Shainele Woodley is going to be starring in two YA films - Fault in Our Stars and Divergent!!

When I heard the news, I was like...  wait, who?

She's been in a couple big things (The Descendants), but she's a relatively new actress.

If you're a fan of YA (and let's face it, if you're here you probably are), you better get used to this face!

Which 2014 YA film are you most excited for?

(I have no answer. I'm torn between a whole bunch including more Hobbit!).

25.2.13

New Catching Fire poster!

Did anyone stay up to watch the Oscars last night? Our girl Jennifer Lawrence won best actress! Yeah!

Speaking of JLaw, there's a new poster for Catching Fire...

I'm slightly confused by the Victory Tour text, but overall it's very shiny and cool looking.

What doy ou think?

16.11.12

Breaking Dawn pt 2!

How many of you are seeing the final Twilight movie tonight? Sad the series is over? Or relieved you won't have to sit through another film?

Have no idea what I'm talking about? (You're probably on the wrong blog) Take a look at the trailer below!
