Dust City is by Canadian author Robert Paul Weston.
the premise: Dust City takes place in an alternate world in which fairy tales are real. This might sound like a cute premise, but Dust City is actually a really gritty, urban setting with an underground criminal society. Henry, a wolf, gets involved while trying to clear his father's name of double homicide. He's been accused of killing Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother. (You can see my whole review

why you'll love it:
- it's a really different setting, in a good way
- you'll get a kick out of running into Snow White, Jack and others in Dust City
- it's gritty, realistic fiction that you can sink your teeth into, even if it does take place in a fairy tale type world
- it has a decent plot with twists and turns and conspiracies and the like.
- aaaand the characters are awesome too
recommended to fans of: urban fantasy-type stuff, though I also think fans of realistic fiction would like this too.
