This week's Waiting on Wednesday is actually a quartet of books being released by Catherine Fisher, author of Incarceron. They're being released one a month through the summer starting in May (though if you're getting them through the library, it will probably be one a month starting in July, but still). If you're tired of waiting for series to be released, this might be a good series to read all in one go. The first book is The Dark City.
the premise: It's a fantasy series set on a terraformed (or man-made) planet called Anara. Ananra is crumbling and amongst this chaos, Relic Masters are hunting for relics or lost technology and others from the Watch are trying to stop them.
why I'm dying to read it: While I haven't read Incarceron yet (I know! I've had it out from the library like 3 times. It's sitting in my livingroom now, even), I've heard great things about Catherine Fisher. Reviews are calling it a 'gritty and enjoyable tale of adventure' and I do like my adventures a bit gritty :)
how long I have to wait: I think I'm going to wait until all books are released and then start reading them, so probably more like September.
while you're waiting check out: Incarceron, also by Catherine Fisher and its sequel Sapphique. The film version of this is due out in 2013 at which point I'm sure the holds lists will get out of control. Beat the hype and read it soon.
