March Madness: Round One, Match Two

Alright, time for our second poll. It's a faerie (fairy? fae?) showdown.

 vs.

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr is a super popular series and has been optioned for film while Iron King by Julie Kagawa is the new favourite. Don't know what they're about? Here's a lowdown:

Seventeen-year-old Aislinn, who has the rare ability to see faeries, is drawn against her will into a centuries-old battle between the Summer King and the Winter Queen, and the survival of her life, her love, and summer all hang in the balance. - Wicked Lovely

Meghan Chase has never fit in at her small-town high school, and now, on the eve of her 16th birthday, she finally discovers why. For when her half-brother is kidnapped, Meghan is drawn into a fantastical world she had never imagined--the world of Faery. - Iron King

And in our dystopian corner, Witch & Wizard vs. Feed.

 vs

Witch & Wizard, the futuristic fantasy tale, didn't manage to win Next Top Novel last year but maybe it's chances will improve. Feed by M. T. Anderson is an award-winning satire where kids have computer implants feeding into their heads. Here are the summaries:

The world is changing: the government has seized control of every aspect of society, and now, kids are disappearing. For 15-year-old Wisty and her older brother Whit, life turns upside down when they are torn from their parents one night and slammed into a secret prison for no reason they can comprehend. The New Order, as it is known, is clearly trying to suppress Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Being a Normal Teenager. But while trapped in this totalitarian nightmare, Wisty and Whit discover they have incredible powers they'd never dreamed of. Can this newly minted witch and wizard master their skills in time to save themselves, their parents--and maybe the world? - Witch & Wizard

Spending time partying on the moon and riding around in his "upcar," Titus is an average teen of the future, complete with a computer chip implant -- the "Feed" -- that lets corporate marketers and government agencies broadcast directly into his brain. Then Titus meets Violet, and an anti-Feed hacker shuts down their Feeds for a short time; but when Violet's Feed is seriously damaged, she begins spouting some radical ideas. - Feed
