Review: The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

I read this over the summer and in a lot of ways, this was a perfect summer read - basically a coming-of-age story that takes place at a beach house. Belly, nearly 16, has to sort out which of the boys she spends her summers with she has feelings for - the brooding boy she's been in love with forever, or her reliable best friend who seems to have developed feelings for her. She's not used to being noticed but suddenly all the boys on the beach seem to be checking her out, including the really sweet Cam who she eventually dates.
Even though it might seem like this book is all about the boys, I don't think it is, really. It's about Belly realizing that she isn't just someone's little sister, she's a young woman in her own right.
Recommended to romance fans and teenage girls in general. If you liked Twenty Boy Summer, this might also hit the spot.
Looking forward to reading the sequel, It's Not Summer Without You.
