Every time a book brags that it's the next Hunger Games, I immediately become skeptical. That being said, Divergent has been getting some great press lately so I'm willing to check it out and see what the fuss is about.
the premise: Chicago is divided into five factions, each dedicated to a virtue. Beatrice's family has always been in one faction but Beatrice herself feels like she belongs in another. She also has a secret that could destroy their way of life (cue ominous music).
why I'm dying to read it: despite the somewhat overdone premise, everything I've read about Divergent has been really positive so I'm excited to see if it lives up to the hype.
how long I have to wait: It's on bookstore shelves now but I'm on the library waiting list so it may be a few weeks.
