March Madness!

Two major trends are dominating teen books - paranormal (think Twilight) and dystopian (think Hunger Games) but only one trend can rule them all! (Actually that's blatently untrue but I still thought it would be fun to match them up and have them fight it out).

First we'll put paranormal titles head to head and dystopian titles head to head, then when there are only two titles standing, a dystopian and a paranormal title, we'll see who the ultimate winner is. Think of it as a warm-up for the Next Top Novel.

For the paranormal matches, I paired up two books in each category (so two vampire books, two werewolf books, etc.). For the dystopian matches, I did the more traditional March Madess bracket and ordered the books 1 to 16 and paired up 1 vs. 16, 2 vs. 15, and so on. The books were ranked on amazon ratings and how popular they were at the library (holds, how many times they'd been checked out, etc.).

This is how it shook out:
(I made this mini poster using Glogster, if you haven't tried it, it's really easy to use. It's also what I used to make the March Madness image above)

Voting starts March 1 (that's a week from now) with Twilight vs. Marked and Hunger Games vs. Inside Out!
