I haven't heard this much buzz about a debut author in a while! I can't wait to read

the premise: The premise is the most interesting thing about the book - it's basically a dystopian future where Officials decide where you work, even who you love. Cassia gets 'matched' up with her best friend but she also glimpses someone else on the screen and develops feelings for that other person. Now she has to decide between listening to society - all she's ever done - and risking everything for love.
why I'm dying to read it: Besides all the buzz shaping it up to be the next 'it' book, the premise sounds really intriguing and similar to other books that I've liked.
how long I have to wait: forever! Or, okay, November 30th. But still... too long.
while you're waiting check out: The
Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld - another dystopian read where society dictates what you look like (and maybe even how you think!).
edit: She's
not a debut author - I stand corrected! But I'm still super excited :D

Technically this isn't Ally Condie's first book, just her first book to the library system, she's written five others.I've been told they're pretty good, mabey the library will get some....?
Clarissa - you're totally right! She wrote under a different name which is why it didn't ping on my radar.
It goes to show that I should check an authors website before I make claims!
