Waiting on Wednesday

Blaze (or Love in the Time of Supervillains) by Laurie Boyle Crompton sounds like my kind of book. Here's why I'm waiting on it.

the premise: Self-identified geek girl Blaze loves comics (specifically Marvel. Thatta girl). When she gets a crush on Mark, she's excited when he seems to return her affections, until it turns out he's just a big fat womanizing jerk. After they hook up and he starts to spread rumours about her, Blaze has to face it head on.

why I'm dying to read it: I feel like there are a lot of fangirls and not a lot of books about fangirls and fanartists. I'm excited to see how Blaze is treated as a character. Also, it sounds like this book deals with revenge which is always entertaining.

how long do I have to wait: it's out in February, so any time now!

while you're waiting: Check out the short story collection Geektastic for more awesome geek stories.
